Rancho Vedado Hunting ~ The True Texas Experience
2010 - YEAR OF THE RATTLE
2010 was another great year as our average bucks harvested were better than the past 2 years. We also had our best year "rattling" with successful harvests on our first 4 attempts! There is no better thrill in Whitetail hunting than a trophy buck busting through the bush at 20 years!!
Hunter Mark Koepp, from Ohio, completed the "Vedado Grand Slam", tagging a buck, doe, Rio, and a javelina. Stephen Bickerton nailed his first ever buck (the celebration ensued). Bob Richey had a 135 class 10, and Kassie Cothran, from Oklahoma, nailed a big buck, while rattling, that was probably larger, except his G2 had very recently been broken. All in all, a great year.
Come see us soon...Be sure to check out our early bird rates for 2011/2012...Tep

Rancho Vedado is 4,000 acres of rim-rocked hills, mesquite flats, live oak and cedar. Our working cattle ranch is still operated by descendants of Richard Franklin Tankersley, the first Anglo settler in this area. This part of Texas is rich in history and heritage, along the edge of the Balcones escarpment, deep in Irion county, near the town of Mertzon. Rancho Vedado is a truly unique location for hunting Texas Whitetail Deer and Rio Grande Turkey. |
